From the latest Ford Australia e-newsletter:
================ In July the new 2.0L EcoBoost™ engine will be available on the Mondeo Zetec and Titanium hatch models. EcoBoost™ will enable Mondeo to deliver the sort of performance you'd associate with a larger engine, with the fuel economy you'd expect from a smaller one. By combining a direct injection fuel system with turbochargers, this technologically advanced engine makes for a powerful and responsive driving experience across the rev range. In addition EcoBoost™ helps reduce CO2 emissions by up to 15%, as well as improving fuel economy by as much as 20%, compared to the previous 2.3L Mondeo petrol engine. ========================= From Uk site, looks like EcoBoost only available with auto. 2.0 203ps EcoBoost, PowerShift Auto 2.0 240ps EcoBoost, PowerShift Auto Wonder which version we are getting ? |

We are getting the 149 kw version sadly..
The higher output one would see me upgrading the XR5 as we would prefer an auto. Oh well. |

Thanks for clarifying, Dash_GT.
At 149kw and auto only...I'll keep my MB XR5 at 165kw + 6spd manual. So looks like I have an instant classic !!!! But what it does raise as an option.... Mondeo XR4 (UK Titanium X with 240ps)...but still auto....grrrr |

Sad fact of life but I didn't buy an XR5 T Mondeo because it was only available in Manual and my wife wouldn't drive.
The 177KW engine that's going in the Falcon branded as an XR4. Happy with that! Unlikely though as I doubt Ford will share the Falcon engine with Mondeo in case it steals sales... BA |
