We've all been a bit disappointed with Ford recently, and the loss of the Falcon and Territory absolutely sucks. As does the withdrawal from the V8s, even though I understand their reasoning.
But there's still reasons to be a proud Ford enthusiast and they certainly haven't ignored their enthusiasts. And now that they're consistently making profits, I expect we'll only see more fantastic performance cars. Chin up everyone. (and we're certainly better off than the red boys) Last edited by Focused; 13-01-2015 at 02:50 PM. |

How good does that GT look?
This could be one of the best ranges Ford has offered in years, if ever.

They should have a high powered V8 4 door sedan (i.e. a GT-F) in the line-up and complete the total performance picture.

Needs a GT-F or FG-X XR8 Photoshopped into it, to complete the family portrait.

Is that focus the same as oz spec?
The GT does look pretty sweet there actually. Pity at the moment only two of them are RHD....and they are hatches.

Only 2 out of that 5 sold here at the moment. One day we might get to 3. But since that image seems to be of the GT 350R, we can pretty much be sure we'll never get more than 2.
Given how much of a slap in the face that fact is to Australia, I think it's actually time to abandon Ford based on that image.....

Pity for the forseeable future that 'range' will be truncated to two cars for Ford performance fans here.

If that GT isn't quicker than or as quick as a Nissan GT-R, its nothing but a poser vehicle and better off as a piece of garage furniture..

Sad that ford never allowed falcon to be exported or to make it their global rwd sedan, they clearly have a gap in their performance range that falcon filled so perfectly...the world would have loved our gt f6 etc given half a chance

Yep it does seem like there is a big gap in that picture, although not sure how the rest of the world feel about 4 door v8's. Chrysler are only doing it for aus, ss didn't sell in the us or UK.

Exactly. I'd love to see the Falcon sold in NA but the fact of the matter is that large RWD cars don't sell in NA (unless they've got a BMW badge).

Two or three? Once Falcon goes we'll have Mustang, Focus ST and Fiesta ST. I assume there will be an overlap with Falcon here for a year while Mustang is on sale so that's four.

Doubtful the XR8 will last long enough to sell alongside the Mustang. And is the Mustang GT in the same "Ford Performance" brand, the photo/banner above suggests otherwise and shows a model we arent getting. Sad face.

It's actually the Fiesta ST on the left and I'm told that the Focus is the 2015 ST, not the RS. I thought the same as you at first. Is the RS coming here?
