Hey fellas, I've decided to snub the Mustang when it's released and buy an FGX XR8.
Even though I just cant get used to the overall look of the FGX yet, I want to own one of the last of the Aussie muscle cars made. I am after one in white, with the lot. What are they going for? And which dealer would you recommend in Melbourne. |

I can recommend coffey ford in Dandenong, they treated me very well compared to the others I went to for my last car. For the auto industry think you'll be looking at around the 59k mark drive away, I wouldn't expect it much cheaper than that.

I have bought 3 new cars from there in the past, won't be going back for various reasons.
Might hit up a few local dealers and see what they can come up with. I remember a while back (few years) there was a dealer who frequented these forums and would do good deals for forum members. Can't for the life of me remember who though. |

My opinion, good luck finding them for 59k in auto now. Or manual for that matter.

Take it as you haven't done much research on them then! 1200 total built has been mentioned a lot and the reason why.

I don't particularly want to give away the dealer but when purchasing my wife's xr8 automatic we got a price of $57,600 drive away. It was their first allocation and we put a deposit on it start of October. Once pricing was realeased they just added delivery fees and registration costs to the rrp. When we took delivery the dealer made sure to mention we received the cheapest xr8 in Australia.

No, all I knew was that the XR8 was back, and that it is basically a Gt Rspec without the bodykit.
I didn't know there were only 1200 being made. That is a bloody joke! And for what I've been seeing price wise, it WAS a good deal a few months back if you were lucky enough to know about them and put an order in. I've seen them going for $70k online. Same deal with the F6, I was looking at buying one at the end of last year but couldn't find a brand new one in the specs I wanted. Spewing! |

i think the demand will dwindle.. All the "must have" buyers are drying up..
I think when Mustang comes there will be more than a few XR8s lying around in dealers. Ill get one at $55k driveaway. |
