Just wondering if anyone has attempted putting a 90's capri xr2 or turbo motor in an escort. seems to be heaps of capris out there for sale at the moment. Would it be possible?. Would it be worth it? Any ideas

Apart from the obvious front wheel drive to rear wheel drive issue.......
Given the motor was Mazda sourced (as far as I know), you could probably get an MX5 equivalent setup and put that in. I do know of a MX5 motor + box into a Mk2 Cortina 1600E, mit supercharger. Very nice job and a real sleeper. Appeared in Zoom magazine about 10yrs ago. |

This is starting to become a popular conversion.
I know of at least 5 Escorts and an Anglia track car. They use the Mazda gearbox or an adapter plate with a type 9 sierra box. |
