Default New marque has arrived in Australia

Interesting article:

Looks like a good small car - it has had rave reviews in the UK.

It is a good car because it does have the underpinnings of a VW which is not a bad thing.
Looks like the Aussie car industry really needs to do something to fight back. My bet nothing will be done.

I think the car looks quite nice, had a look at it a few weeks ago on a sunday with the old man just kicking tires. Its on his list to test drive as he is looking for a new car. I quite liked the look of it when I saw it .....

The Aussie car industry doesn't have anything in that segment now anyway so whats the difference.

Looks alike a great little car, especially inside. Good to know that you can dispose of an average to large size body without doing your back in. :hihi:

i meant in general, there are a lot of decent cars coming to our shores to take on the locals and to be honest they seem to be a lot better for the $$.
Unless you're a Ford enthusiast why would you really bother getting a Falcon for an everyday commuter when there are better alternatives coming from overseas, i.e Mondeo and many others in the medium sized category.
I certainly changed my preference when it was time to buy a new car, I didn't even look at the falcon range, had nothing on offer, except possibly the XR6T.

What needs to happen is Ford should shift the priority of their marketing and spread to the range of vehicles. Mondeo being the main one, it is a much better car than the Falcon, the Focus is the probably the best in its range (ok i am a little biased ;)) and same with the Fiesta. Ford need to get these names out there, everyone already knows the Falcon, but not many are to aware of the Mondeo.
