Default Took my F6 racing tonight

Well i hit the plex tonight with my F6, First run

2.18 60ft
12.63 117 mph

Second run

1.93 60ft
12.33 120 mph

Third run

2.19 60ft

12.6 120

After my second run it rained and an oil down so by my third the track had gone off a little, car just spun bad . so home we went

Overall im fairly happy, Before i went down i gave it a quick run on the dyno with my street map (slightly detuned for everyday use) and it made 840 nm @ tyres and 373 rwkw's, so the car ran lovely didnt seem to hurt anything SO alls well.

Manuals with stock clutches and street tyres with lotsa power makes for a hard times lol

Thumbs up F6

Top stuff Simon, you gotta love the Aussie I6. Your next project should be to convert these rear drivers to all wheel drive, it wouldn't be too hard for someone like you. The Falcon I6 will then show it's true potential, put the Skyline GTR back in it's box. You could actually develop the best 6 cylinder in the world buddy, you're not that far off. Between you and Chris you guys are leading the way when it comes to performance Fords hey! It all started with your GTP, now look what you've done......

I wwould of thought with that much grun you would have been running low 12's on street tires. Either way it's an impressive result for it's first visit.

they are street tyres. I doubt it would have been spining all first 3 gears if they wernt. as power goes up as does the inability to get a car down the track.

Yes I agree simon, that something that some people tend to forget sometimes. They hold off going to the strip till they get more power, then they do and record a shyte time as all they do is wheelspin. Practise alone can gain 0.5-1 second depending on what your 1st effort was then you have to adapt to launches etc when you do more mods

Ya right there Rodders every major mod Ive had eg. tyres, new tune, diff gears etc I had to learn to adapt to the different characteristics of each mod as almost like learning the car over and over again to many mods at once brings on many variables and you have to learn all of them to make your car go quick, all at once make the task a bit daunting one at a time is alot more managable and understand each mods characteristics alot better.

Why would you replace the stock clutch anyway? What advantage would you get? Those AP racing clutches are top shelf products I hear.

While they are a very nice unit, FPV opted for the cast heavy ans sin pressure plate instead of the nice light billet one... thats prolly the only real reason for changing

you must of taken off before they announced you had set the record- either that or they got it wrong, because they did say it was the new record for a manually shifted something or other.....

well that depends. Is 373 rwkw's going to push a 4000 pound manual shifted street tyred car down a quarter in 130 mph... Not according to my calcs... It would need more like 500 rwkw's. big difference between 373 and 500. There is a huge difference between a auto shifted car and a manual. Considering my wifes XR6T runs 114 MPH with only 270 rwkw's and an auto.
