I was just browsing the forum and saw somewhere that a T56 can be converted to a sequential shift? I tried searching for it but that was the only post about it. If that is true, how does that work? Sounds quite neat, has anyone done this conversion? Cost & what's involved? I'm guessing it works like this: Clutch from standstill like a conventional manual then clutch-less shifting through the gears? Maybe disengage the clutch to downshift? Does it work with the common H pattern or is it push [up] for down and pull [down] for up or vice-versa - (in gate type shifter)? Thanks, just curious, that is all. Cheers, Carl

Most likely it would be just a sequential shifter for the gearbox, where the shifting is in an up or down motion instead of H pattern.
You will find that it wont have anything to do with the clutch, you will still need to use your clutch like normal, but shifting will be an up and down inline pattern. In saying all this, i havent heard of this for a tremec, there is a shifter for toploaders which is sequential and i believe XDC351 had one. |

I’ve heard of it for 4-spd gearboxes (top loaders, Muncie rock crushers, etc). I heard that they were working on 5 spd versions (so I guess they went for 6 spd as well).
As Philstoj said you still need to use your clutch but all of the movements are in the vertical plane without having to cross gates for 2-3, 4-5 shifts. http://www.renagate.com/info.htm

Hmmmmm, that sounds quite awesome. Possibly something I myself would look into if the 5-speed is made.
Wonder what something like that would cost? Hopefully under a grand. Thanks guys.
