Default AUs on Television

So i'm always interested in spotting AUs on the telly screen

obviously everyone knows the AU that got blown up in Mission Impossible II

there's an NRMA ad here in QLD that features what was probably otherwise a perfectly good AUII Fairmont wagon in Barossa Red getting majorly hail damaged

and whilst flicking through channels tonight i noticed on Neighbours they're using a white AUII Fairmont as a marked up cop car! It has to be at least 8 years old!!

So have you seen any other AUs at work on TV?

In that taxi show, whatever its called. Where the driver asks the passengers questions and they win stuff. They use an AU cab for that.

Last night (or maybe the night before) there was a NZ cop show (copumentary??) where 2 car loads of cops were going to a farm for a cannabis bust.

Both cars were AU1's.

Ah good point too mate, yes quite so.
Also the old treasury casino ad ('So, how was your night?') was an AU cab (and a real genuine brisbane cab too! ST1000 if i remember correctly), and so is some headache medicine has a southern AU cab too.

My friend is obsessed with that show. She's bought every season on DVD so far, even the one just out in NZ she got via mail order. Gotta admit though it is a half decent show!

I was semi-excited to see one of the nasty Underbelly 1 characters driving around in an AU Sportsman, almost identical to my car.

I almost spat my cereal all over the tv when I saw that! :(

What a waste of a perfectly good car, and a FAIRMONT nonetheless!

Yep, fair comment and whilst that's true, perversely I've seen more Ferrari's, Lambo's etc (not exactly "mass produced" and only slightly more "exotic") than I have au's.

For some unknown reason I would tend to notice an au on tv more than I would notice an "exotic"

I watch 3 - 4 hours of tv per week (excluding things like Bathurst or Rugby or Tour de France)

In an average week there will be perhaps one hour of commercial tv, but even then I flick around when the adv's are on. I've learned to live without it ;)

So, no... I haven't seen many au's on tv.

Unlike those who live in front of the box and have seen thousands?? of au's, it is still a novelty for me.

But hey, thanks for your interest in my viewing habits
