3.7 will pick up a bit, If you were wheel spinning (assuming you were) then slicks will help.
The only downside to slicks is they tend to drag the engine down a bit. But saying that, if you are running 12.4, then i'd say your engine is very healthy. Where did you run this time and what MPH?? |

I run 11.7 at 115 1.75 60ft on a slick tyre
But have run 11.57 at 115 with a 1.65 60 ft. First 60ft makes a lot of difference. |

I'm with walkinshaw, around 11.8. My old 351 went 1.70 sixty foot, with 11.9 at 112.78. Still, nice results mate.

Nice work mate! and with a real gearbox
As mentioned, launching with slicks will drag the revs down a bit on launch, so don't be a granny or you'll stall it...especially with 3.25's!! Get your right foot into it and go hard!! Lotsa revs is a good thing!!! That being said, high rev clutch dumps with tall gearing and slicks won't do your clutch any favours, so I'd wait for the lower diff gears. Car setup doesn't always effect the mph too much...you can have a much quicker ET but run the same mph. Basically, setup determines how quick you get off the line and engine power determines how fast you are at the other end. Bit hard to get your head around that at first. |
