Question Escort door lock replacement?

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had ever tried to replace the door locks on their MKII escort? I like to replace the ones on mine as they're almost gone.

I was considering upgrading to solex locks, but the solex internet web page specificaly states:

"FORD all models from 1980, as long as the key barrel is separate to the handle."

This reads to me, that it would not be appropriate for escorts, as the key barrel is an intergrated part of the handle, not, like on my old laser, located seperately on the door pannel...

Just thought I'd ask anyway, incase someone has already had success with such a job...

In any case, any other suggestions for replacement locks would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers, Dan

Looks like you need to go to a wrecker and get a set.
