It would be about time, Ford been killing them in that department. You can guess what the front and rear will look like anyway, its just the fine details that I am interested in.

Interesting that Motor was trying to say that the VE ute wouldn't be a go-ahead.

I think they are trying to fool us into thinking its a Ford with that blackline down the back of the cab, But the rims give it away in an instant! - Its funny they spend a BILLION dollars on a new Commodore but Holden still uses the same stock rims and cente caps they have used for the last 20yrs!

The VE ute will look the same as a VZ except the front will look a bit different. The back will look the same. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

the overhang looks like they have used a standard sedan chassis and dropped the VU tray on it with altered wheel arches..

but its the VE... *yawn*

Yep, just looks like a VE front stitched onto the current Commy ute.

Kind of like what Ford did with the XH utes....EF front on XD rear :P

Have a closer look, there is a bit more in it than that.

Rear wheel arches, sill panels, doors are all different, and while the quarters may look very similar along the top edge, they are a different shape to the vu-z.

I couldn't see them using the same taillight, mabey an evalution of the old one, time will tell.

Looks like the distance between read of cab and rear wheels is less forcing a larger rear overhang to get a decent sized tray??

Based on a SWB maybe?

Holden said ages ago that the VE ute was based on the SWB models, this had been said in a few of the ute mags.

It looks oversized.

Don't know if I like it or not. Probably best if we see a pic of the thing uncovered.

I've always like the Holden utes. (Well not the VP model)

Thats interesting because the ute in those pictures is quite clearly a LWB chassis. Also, there is no cab chassis, its the same format as the VU based ute but to say its just a VZ tray with a VE front bolted on is totally wrong. Not sure if there is going to be a traytop/1 tonne option like the current ute but I would say they would as their production line is already set up for it.

Personally I like it. That antenna on the roof looks stupid though.

The ute section doesn't look any larger than the current full-body models ... the camo (not that it's hiding much) kinda makes it look a little larger in the back ... but with the raking rear pillar from the roof ... it looks like the ute section starts further back.

I doubt carrying capacities will change much from the current VZ utes.

The holden cab chassis was dropped at the end of the vy's,so a ve version would be highly unlikly imo.
