In the description, it says it's a 2 door coupe. Certainly doesn't look like one to me.

I understand that you are doing "someone" a favor, but seriously, this crap happens all the time, if someone is going to fork out that amount of cash for something over ebay and they dont do their homework well......

And no one here is going to make a mistake like that.

/nothing personal, but if we get a thread everytime this happens then the forums would be full of it.

Apart from the fact the seller has never sold anything on ebay before and the pic has a date 04 10.04.2005 and the car is located in Bankstown what makes you think its a con?

I am serious not being sarcastic, i have looked over it and can't see the problem

The pricing is not too far out, with the exception the XY was 1971 not 1970

I don't doubt you, but i am going on RedBook info, if you look at 1970 it only lists xw's 1971 lists only xy's, 1972 lists only xa's

Hiding the bidders behind a number is the easiest way to use dummy bidders. Like this guy does: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....DME:L:RTQ:AU:1
The giveaway was that he sent the second chance offer soon after the auction finished and the highest bidder and the seller were both from ROWVILLE VIC. He has used the same dummy bidder a few times and it looks like others as well, if you check through his feedback.

I dont understand
Why is it a scam?ok the seller wrote 8 litre instead of 8 cylinder, and 2 door instead of 4, but they are just silly mistakes.

To my mind 80k is pushing it for a car he is saying its a GT, not a HO, but no harm asking? see what you get.

SO what makes evryone so SURE its a scam?

Wow, what a clever answer. If someone asks a legitimate question, how about people try answering it instead of trying to be smart?
I've seen a lot of bogus cars for sale on Ebay (BA GTs for $10,000 buy it now etc), but I'd also like to know exactly what screams out con about this listing?

And by the way, with regard to him "hiding" behind numbered bidders, this is from Ebay:

To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails (such as fake second chance offers), eBay has changed how bid history information is displayed. If you place a bid on a higher-priced item, only you and the seller of the item can see your User ID in the bid history. Other members will only see anonymous names, such as Bidder 1.

It wasnt bloody real, i asked him a question and he told me i can go and get it for $5900 if i pay it now. Its rubbish. If you are even questioning it after what everybody has pointed out, you are the idiot.

Hello,
The car is still available for sale. It's a 1970 XY GT FORD FALCON.
It's in showroom condition, no scratches, no dents, accident-free, full service history. The car is a 1970 model, and still with AU title.
It's a AU supplied car (NOT AN IMPORT).
The price I'm asking is AUD $5,900.00 including delivery at your home address and full insurance during shipping.
Please note that the car is located in Rome/Italy ,where I live and from where the car will be shipped to your requested address.
We're only selling the car because we can't register an AUD supply car in Italy... So I'm practically forced to sell the car. But my loss will be your gain.
The payment will be completed only trough eBay and shipping will be handle by a local company.
The car will be delivered directly to your requested address in 3-6 business days, within AU and all servicess,AirFreight INSURED,are included in the asking price.
Please let me know if you're interested so I can provide you with further details regarding the transaction.
Best regards,
Michael Darotta.

LMAO This response you got is almost word for word the same as others in similar threads on ebay car scams. Have a search and see what I mean. Too funny. They must've done the same "how to scam" course.

for some reason to get the car here in that time from rome, with the cost being included in the $5900, you'd probably be getting the car for free
