Hi,
I ordered a wiring harness from CZ recently. It was valued at EUR 900, and I ended up having to pay additional ~$330 directly to the Courier company in total for GST, Bio-security Inspection fee, import duty, handling fee, etc. So it isn't very 'competitive' but there isn't any way around it either. Cheers,

all imported parts should be charged GST at 10% now, regardless of value. The seller should add the charge at point of sale but not all web sites seem to. Still cheaper than many local stores
I've never been charged any other import fees apart from GST. |

Don,t know about over $1000, but I got an official looking email from Ebay stating that they would be collecting taxes on all purchases into Aust and sales to some USA states.

Correct, any purchases from overseas Ebay sellers will incur GST charges regardless of price and be careful of who you purchase from as some sellers who I thought was based in Australia turned out to be overseas registered sellers where I had to pay GST even though they advertised product being local where in fact the product was flown in.
