Default New GT Club - "The GT Club" inc

Hi Guys,

Just a quick welcome from our Club President and invite to browse our own online community.

++++++++++++++++++++
Gidday,

My name is Rob Macedon, some of you will know me, as I have been on the GT scene for some time.

I would like to introduce our new club to your members.

Our new club is simply "The GT Club" inc.

Club Patron - Ford Motorsport legend - Fred Gibson!

We cater for GT 's 67-76 plus the limited run specials,

Eg, Goss-Cobra coupe,EB-EL-GT,TE-TS 50,BF-GT40,BF-Cobra GT.

South African GT's

Tribute Class GT's

Associate vehicles at the committee's discretion.

We are a social car club, not a judgemental one, as our aim is to promote friendship through our interest in these magnificent vehicles...

We launched "The GT Club inc" @ The motor-Ex 2008, and were received favourably by the general public, and other car clubs on display.

We were fortunate enough to be awarded "best display" at our first outing, we caught up with some of our central coast friends and had a great weekend on "Ford Performance Boulevarde".

We are a young club, with an enthusiastic and committed committee, we are 70+ members strong and look forward to outings, and hopefully some joint outings with yours and other clubs, with similar interests.

I will shortly be sending a formal letter of introduction to the various GT Clubs around Australia, hopefully our inter-club friendships will continue and blossom in the future.

Please feel free to visit and register on our forum and join in our online community.

http://thegtclubinc.freeforums.org/index.php

Regards
Rob Macedon

Hi Rob,

So you don't cater for regular BA/BF GT's then?

Hey guys.

The new club caters more for the metal bumper models i.e 67-76.

Special interest models such as BF 40th, BF GT Cobra and (hopefully) an FG GTHO will be okay. However the club is more centred to the classic stuff.

Not taking anything away from the new GT's, they are a great modern performance car.

cheers,
Dave.

Hi fella's no silence...just flat out..

My name is Rob, and the answer is no,but no for exclution, just our members wanted to concentrate on the 67-76 theme..

We allow the limmited runs ie EB-EL GT,TE-TS 50 ,BF-GT40,BF-GT COBRA..

It is more a classic Grand tourer thing...

The new ones are great cars, and are owned by some passionate young guys.

FPV clubs, cater for these cars and we drive too slow for those young guys..

67-76, is our main aim, sorry if anyone feels left out,but plenty of choice in Sydney, heaps of clubs everyone will find a place where they feel comfortable.

Hope this answers your question, sorry for the delay..

Regards
Rob Macedon

So why the new club when you are already part of the NSW GT Club?

Hi, if it is more 67 - 76 then would you not prefer things like XW - XC GS & XD/XE ESP's models over TE/TS and the other FPV models you have mentioned.

I would have thought the Tickford/FPV club would have catered for the T series along with the EB-EL GT,BF-GT40,BF-GT COBRA which all fall under the Tickford and FPV banner.

Still to my way of thinking, if it is a GT club then they should just cater for GT owners XR to XB, EB, EL, BA, BF & FG models. I guess the NSW GT cater for these cars already, correct? I guess it is a same for other states.

Why this new club, with the GT name? Has there been a falling out within the current NSW GT club and this is an offshoot?

The GT Club Inc. is more for the older style GT's. There are other such clubs such as the Canberra GT Club.

No falling out mate, just members with slightly different interests.

The committee of the new club are still members of FGTOCNSW.

Cheers,
Dave.

Hi Dave,

if its a "GT" club why are you allowing entry of non "GT" models and excluding other newer GT models? _2:

Why not call it an Early Falcon club?

Hi and nice to meet you too..

Man,everyone has a choice..this is "The GT Club",as in 67-76...

The cars after it ie the limmited runs...specials. in the spirit of the grand tourer...that are interesting to look at,and differ from thier related models.

You must have a new FPV GT considering the "JOKE" remark

No need for the chip on the shoulder, but if you owned a BF COBRA or BF-GT40 you would probably think it was different from the standard BA-BF-FG GT.

I think you are being a little unfair as judgemental we are not ,we are a social grour who honour the "TRUE" GT's and respect fords later attempts at makeing a legend, just by puting a badge GT on it,doesn't do that for me.

Each to his own my friend, you don't need to defend the new GT's they should be able to do that for themselves,"mother of performance cars" was the original add....

The BA took it's mother along so people could recognise it : : :voldar02:

The GT Club, catering for GT's 67-76 + respect for fords efforts :

Except there isnt just GT's in the club!
Nice initiative, but if you want to be a bit different and not get "tarred with the same brush" id drop GT out of the name because there are too many GT clubs already... and allot of people have mixed feelings towards GT clubs..
Just a suggestion!

Thanks for the input but "The GT Club" is fine, thanks.

We are All Australians and when someone says "LOOK AT THE GT",yes i'm afraid 9 times out of 10 they are reffering to an early GT,you see we as Australians identify 67-76 as "The GT",so "The GT Club" is acurate.IMO

No Disrespect

So it is the special GT club that admits as members all limited run performance Falcons.

I wonder if it will admit the quickest limited run Falcon ever made, the FPV BFII F6 Typhoon R-Spec?
Limited release, only 300 made, it is not a GT but neither is a TE50 or TS 50....

No of course not, to be a special GT club member you must have a special car that the other members think is special.

Sort of like the special clubs little kids at primary school form to make themselves feel superior to the other kids. Nya nya you can't be in my club coz it is only for special people...

The only GTs EVER built under the guise of a 'limited' run were the EB & EL GTs, and the BF 40th & Cobra models.
Everything else was just a production vehicle.

Guys, guys, guys.

Chill pill!

This was just a general notice to let you know of our new club, and that you're welcome to it if it's your thing. Not to deconstruct it's constitution or criteria.

Like all things in life fella's, you have choices. If this one isn't for you, then that's cool. We're not here to shove it down your throats if it's not your cup of tea. This is your site and we are just advising as a courtesy, nothing else.

All good, don't worry about it.

cheers,
Dave.

Phew.... its hotter in here than in a GT (limited, special, not so special, whatever) with a bung aircon that is being driven on the Stuart highway in the middle of summer with the outside temperature nudging 46' Celsius.
