Probably over height but apart from that, it looks fine.

Am I missing something?

Apart from possibly being too high, cant see anything else wrong with it.
Infact, probably one of the more secure loads Ive seen lately.

Secure??? with bungee cords holding steel chairs?? and it's definitely not tied tight or that bit of polycarbonate sheeting would be bent well over

But it's a typical sight when people with no idea and complete disregard for other road users load a box trailer with their crap

seen it so many times, crap flying/falling from box trailers because the people securing the load have no idea

And it's not over height unless it's above 4.3m
and I see he had the sense to put a red flag on the rear over hanging crap

I think it's worse when you see truckies using straps when they should have chains. Not uncommon to see VERY dangerous loads from guys who should know a bit about this stuff

At least you can see to look out for the OP's mate from a mile away, unlike some of the cowboys you see with loads of steel etc that is waiting to shift and kill someone

This stuff would come off at the first corner.
Should be on a longer vehicle loaded long wise not height wise...
That vertical sheet will rub through what ever is holding it and any heavy braking would see the load spill.

Yup... fancy putting the polycarbonate sheeting vertical like that?

the timber at the bottome doesnt appear to have any ropes holding much tension on it either. sadly I have seen worse.

be interesting to see that load on the freeway with sheets flapping 100 mph in the wind......from a long distance away .
you see some funny stuff out on the roads, i once saw a bloke being wizzed down the road in a 6x4 trailer, he was standing holding onto a full size standing up house fridge, it may have had a rope going across it, i can`t recall , but i do recall there was no way he or the fridge would be staying in the trailer had the driver hit the brakes .

And when he has to brake quickly, those timbers are going to go into and over his tailgate probably into the back of his cab/head. Anythings possible then. I'd stay well clear of him and his load

That's what enclosed trailers are for....

So someone can stand in there and hold the 82 inch flatscreen up!

Not that I've ever seen that happen or anything...

I've seen worse, recently saw a white Navara cab chassis with one of those massive round trampolines sitting semi-vertically... but leaning over on the right, looked as if if the ropes broke, it'd fall onto the car in the right lane for sure! Very very tall too. It looked like one of those amazing loads pictures that get around the web. The cops wouldnt let it pass... and my jaw was on the floor!

Had a bloke fuel up his nice new commodore at one of the depots, his box trailer, one with front and rear gates, was loaded up to the top of the rails with nice new 300mm pavers, of course he had to drop the front gate to fit them all in, all unsecured. I said to him that they wouldn't stay there, No worries mate I'm taking it nice and steady cause I only live 2 klms away. When I left the depot I turned onto the service road to head up to the lights, He's ol mate with smashed pavers all over the road and huge dents and smashed tail lights on his new car. Apparently someone cut him off and he was quite surprised how far pavers could fly in an emergency stop from just 20kph

Today I seen two police officers booking someone who had a cubby house in a 6x4 trailer, that wasn't tied down.

The worst is watching how some people load car trailers. They wonder why they get the wobbles up when a car is loaded on backwards. Well derrrr. Or seeing people use cheap nasty little ratchet straps to tie cars down. I'm talking ones that you probably wouldnt even use on motorbikes. I cringe at the thought of a car coming off a trailer.

Personally I always load the car on forward so the wait is sitting just a bit towards the front of the trailer but not right forward. I use 2500kg ratchet straps around each front wheel so the car cant move side/side or forward/backward. I then also use another around the diff. Can comfortably sit on 100kmh or more if wanted without any wobbles at all.
