I went to start it this morning and there is a loud tapping noise. It sounds Louder than the tapping of lifter noise and I think its coming from #6.
What could this be? Is this a common noise for when a head gasket goes (maybe not firing on number 6)... It hasn't seemed to be using any more oil or water than usual. Cheers |

its going to be a noisey lifter. go buy some lifter free and if that doesn't work after a few days, buy new lifters and fit them...real easy, just search for lifters and you will find heaps of stuff on it.

I tooke the rocker cover of and had a poke round and found 2 rooted lifters so i replace all 12.
It was suprisingly easy considering it was the first time ive worked on one of these engines. All up it cost $276 |
