I have a couple of work shop manuals for Mk1 Capri & Mk2 escorts, not much changed in the wiring between the capri and Escort, if you let me know what wires are there I will see if the match the wiring diagrams I have, If they are the same i can scan the wiring schematic and upload

do you or can you get a multimeter or test light ?

the workshop manual schematic diagram will tell you which colour wire goes

where

look in the legend to see what the abbreviation of the pink wire is and then

trace it

ok so that wire can be excluded then.
can you get out your ignition switch wires ok ?

if so turn the ignition ok and using a test light go through each wire and you will see

which has power ....this will narrow it down for you

use that with the schematic in the workshop manual and you will then know which

color wire is the ignition ON

Is this the same colour you are doing your project in? This is mine in the day-glow green, but will be getting a full resto within the next 2 years so colour will be changing to something more original.

thanks mate, it's my pride and joy :-)

Running a 2 litre Pinto, twin 40mm webers and genie extractors. Suspension, brakes and box are all Mk2 - 2 litre bits. I'm pretty much aiming to make it a Mk1 Mexico clone.

I'll look forward to seeing more pics of your project
