G'day All,
Great and informative site you have here. spent most of last night browsing threads re auto transmissions. I recently picked up a 2001 AUII XL Ute with 128k on the clock. log book shows that the transmission was last flushed 2 years ago and as this ute will be used for regular towing, i want to have it serviced prior to use. i am fairly confident that i could do a quick 5L oil change with a service kit myself, but im leaning towards getting a full flush done this time, then doing the service kit every 45k myself. i also want to have a oil cooler fitted. CATS in Sydney quoted me $220 for the flush and $385 for the cooler (supply, fit & gst). Is this a fair price? i know i can pickup a cooler kit from supercheap for approx $100, but since this ute will be used for business, im thinking of getting the pro's to do the install. is it worth saving $285 and having a go at the cooler myself? Thanks in advance, Joe |

I think I paid around $250 for a flush and full service about 9 months ago... in country NSW so would be dearer than Sydney. IIRC $155 for the flush and $95 for the service? I'd be getting another quote.

If you can write it off on tax, don't do it yourself.

Around 9 months ago I paid $200 supply and fit a trans oil cooler. I'd had the trans serviced (basic drain/filter/refill) a couple of weeks prior to that for $120. |

Sorry to dig up an old thread,
Can anyone recommend a good place in Western Sydney for a flush? Craigs Automatics in Chipping Norton wants to charge $185 for an oil change. When I asked for a flush he said it's not cost effective - whatever.. So can anyone recommend someone for a flush (not just an oil change)? The car's an AU2 4speed auto with 182k and it leaks at the pan seal. Cheers in advance |

Sorted.
Anyone looking for a flush in Western Sydney, try Liverpool Transmission Service Centre in Prestons. $234 for a full flush of the 4 speed auto trannie, and the LSD Diff was also drained and refilled for that price. $169 for the trannie only. |
