Default Pontiac G8 revealed (Rebadged SS)

I think the results actually a little better this time than the facelift they gave the Monaro.

not too bad. why do americans always add amber reflectors to everything? probably a safety thing, but they look crap.

Amber indicators not only look crap but you can't tell at a glance if they are actually on or not.

I like it, and yep much better job than the bastardisation of the Monaro. Having said that, I visited a Pontiac dealer last year when in the States and when you see the GTO (Monaro) lined up with the rest of the Pontiac range it all kind of makes sense. Contrary to what we have been told the average yank loved the aussie GTO, they were just to expensive even with a sticker price of $39,990!!!!

I can't seem to get the pictures or the web page happening.

I have seen more and more VEs on the road and I can't get over how dumb they look from the front with the big wheel arches.

I think it looks awkward... but I think most US cars look awkward, so I guess it will sell well ;)

Yeah, design rules. Motorbikes over there have to have them too.

I reckon the car looks hot with a capital H. Better than the SS. But wait and see how long it takes for the yanks to start whingeing about it like they did with the GTO

Looks like they gone for more of a luxury look rather than a sports look, it aint bad but i prefer the aussie version front doesnt do it for me but should sell well looks better than any other family sedan there selling over there.

I agree that it looks better than the SS. I don't mind the bonnet vents either. That's closer to how the VZ Monaro scoops should have looked

I like the rear end. The front end looks much better than the Aussie version but I don't like the bottom half of the front end.

Its taken me a while to get used to the new VE shape. for the first time I saw one the otherday and thought, "hey, that doesnt look too bad," tho i saw it from the back as it was driving away. One of the SS or HSV models in like a slate grey metalic of some kind. I think its great that we're exporting to america, regardless of badge. Its good for our waning automotive industry. Still surprises me how many yanks arent aware that the GTO is australian. Wonder what it'll be like with the 'G8/SS'.
