Default Fuel Cap Keys

I can’t find information online about this, hence my post.
Yes, I could go out and buy a new CPC cap. But what if I just want to use the lock on this one? The only visible code is “0” and I don’t know if that’s a letter or a zero.

Most mailbox keys can be easily cut per the code stamped on them - but I’ve not seen similar for fuel caps. Has anyone got a hint or two they’re willing to share?

Looks like a Q to me.
Quick Google of cpc caps shows the locking ones have different letters stamped on them.
Go to supercheap, and see if you can find a Q cap and take a photo of the key.
Then hopefully a key cutter can copy it via the photo.

Those CPC locking caps are generally a single sided key, just pick it with another single sided key that fits, you can usually just jiggle the key while trying to turn it then they unlock, once off disassemble and file the tumblers to the key that just opened it.

locking caps just keep out the honest ones

The letter code must be a “thing” specific to CPC, it’s a single sided key for sure - can see by the profile when the cover piece is pressed away.

Tempted to see if I can extract the cylinder and look for a stamped code on the side. From memory the AU has a single sided key with numerical code stamped on it (also a CPC cap).
