hi everyone

was wondering you know how people go somewhere to catch up and sit talk or whatever wether its someones house or a pub and also have a drink or 2 or whatever?

is the caravan parks or beaches a good way to do it?

if you wanted to go to beach and stay at a caravan park within walking distance which is cheap to stay in if you dont yet have a caravan?

if you went to a bar which could you go to where its only your crew like if you were at someones house.

if anyone knows thatd be great

If you don't have a caravan, then the cheapest way to stay is in an unpowered site with your own tent generally. No electricity though, so supply your own gas lights, bbq etc.

Well some places let you hire out rooms at bars, but if you don't want to pay for that, then you'll probably have to battle it out with the other patrons.

You're pretty vague anyway...

At many places, consuming alcohol in public places like parks and beaches is illegal, and is usually signposted as such.

Some caravan parks have cabins you can rent for a couple of nights as well. I did that with friends on a road trip in Europe. We had cooking facilities, and just stocked up each day with supplies from the local supermarkets. With the cost split between the whole group, it shouldn't be too expensive.

You can book a function room in some pubs, but you may need a large group, and that could be pretty expensive.

Otherwise whoever has the biggest backyard, set up some tents and camp there would be the cheapest way.

Depends how far people are travelling too.

We have an annual week-long gathering of about 50 people (from NSW & QLD) where we choose somewhere on the NSW north coast, or inland in the New England.
We stay at a caravan park with onsite cabins - most stay in the cabins, but some bring vans, and a few occasionally camp in tents (often bumming a shower in one of the cabins instead of the shared facilities).

The 'camp kitchen' in most parks is very well suited to a gathering like this - you can cook up a BBQ dinner, then party on (not too loud though) into the night. Do it out of season like we do, and you won't have many others in the park to contend with apart from a few grey nomads. If it's winter, they often have a large enough indoor room or area you can use - depending on the park.

But if it's going to get rowdy, best to be on private property.

Most venues (like council owned halls) that you can hire these days have strict closing times (way too early IMO) and require 1-2 security guards at contract rates, making it an expensive proposition.

We were faced with a similar question 6 months ago, looking at doing a party for 100 people. We ended up hiring a room at a local club. The room cost less than the hall hire that council wanted to charge. And the money we would have spent on security went into catering so we didn't have to worry about food. It also makes it easy for the guests to buy their own drinks.

Last time we went out with the boys on a fishing trip we stayed in Barwon Heads in their caravan park, powered site was $40 a day and we were pretty much right on the beach, they slept in swags, set up tarps off their 4x4s as well and we took along a BBQ.

Was wondering how you'd go about having regular social dance parties in a small town and where you could hold the social parties to in a small town that doesn't cost a lot because only places in a small town is a pub and there are some people that don't go to pubs so if anyone knows that'd be great

While I am building my house I just moved into a rental which is next to a pub with another pub across the road. Surprisingly I don't visit them as much as I thought I would.
I would much prefer to go to somebodies house or have people come to mine.

However you ask about Parties and mention Caravan parks. This not really a desirable place as they'are usually known for their Family Friendly atmosphere, not drinking and loud music.
And the Gym Junkie Dad in the next site may take a dim view to you trying to get his 15yo daughter drunk just so you can get into her pants.

A party is usually held at someone's house (not yours, as you have to clean the mess afterwards) where lots of drinking, girls getting their clothes off and very loud music is prevalent.
Mr Plod usually makes a visit around midnight (If it's a really good party, they may call back later to see how it's going)

As for sleeping arrangements, if you had a good time this will not be a problem as you'll pass out, therefore not caring where you sleep.

Easy one, if you're looking for a top place in a small town to hold a dance with heaps of birds, try the local lawn bowls club, most towns have one.

Live music from the piano, a polished dance floor, cheap grog, and the best bit, the birds can take their teeth out...its a win/win
