this is the " non servicable " part of the heater hose from the mondeo.you can see the edge i sanded down on a 45degree angle , then used a knife the cut thru the rest of the plastic from the outer shell. u can see where there are some ribs to hold the hose, and i just used a clamp to tighten hose.. not bad fix for a few dollars instead of + $100

Well done. Citroën had the same stupid idea in the late ‘90s for a lot of their low pressure hydraulic hoses and some heater hoses. You could skin the ends and fit new hose to the original fittings.
