dose any one no were to get good oil coolers

I have a xd 4.1 and wana get my self a oil cooler but a good one like a polished alloy ONE were can i get one ????

plenty of places around mate. PWR are very good and perma cool are good aswell just do some internet searchs or ring around your local speed shops they all stock them.

I am after one as well ... do they come with all fittings and pipes made up???
Just wondering if there's a full kit for AU I6 engines/gearboxes .... so it's a case of bolt up and connect the hoses/fittings.

An oil cooler is just a small radiator. Once you buy that you need to buy an oil cooler adaptor for your car. It goes inbetween the oil filter and block. It has hoses to run to the cooler running of it.

ahhhh ... I am looking more for a transmission oil cooler than an engine oil cooler.

Trans cool is the same just a radiator. You have to run rubber line/s from your existing lines to connect it. It's pretty straight forward.

unless you running high pressure then use braided lines with screw fittings or from norden you can get lines with swagged ends stop them blowing off.

Just curious as to why your chasing one?

Do you live in a pretty hot area? Or tow pretty heavy weights?

PWR are also a stack plate oil cooler. Perma Cool are not and I wouldn't trust my engine to one.

You can use a engine cooler as an oil cooler. B&M states this in their litrature. I run 2 of their 70266's engine/trans coolers.

Yes you could, as long as you reduce the inlet & outlet pipe diameter.

But PWR do make a cooler for trans's, power steering as well as engines.

Rang Rocket yesterday afternoon ... and their trans cooler (280mm x 255mm x 19mm .... or thereabouts) was $155 inc GST ... not too badly priced really.

If you just want one for your engine bay for looks, then don't worry about what your going to run through it and just have it there for ****.... :MrT_anim:

Honestly, It takes some serious modifications to warrant having an engine oil cooler.

I have seen damage done to engines from running oil coolers also.....
