just in the last week i've been noticing a sound coming from my focus that sounds almost like the CVs are wearing out? but my focus has only done 21500km!!!!!!!! so surely it couldn't be the CVs cos i have never EVER done a burnout. could it just be the wheel balance weights? but there is no vibration from the steering!!!!!!

I get the same thing out of my focus when turning around corners, never done a burnout either..

The bearings in my cv's went at 5,000km's. Made a clunk clunk clunk noise when accelerating. I drive conservatively.

Ive had driveline shunt since 15000 altho i have bigger self inflicted probs now.

No harm done if it's under warranty. Except the loss of your car for a day...

The warranty covers everything minus the battery (after 12 months). CV's are covered under warranty.
Unless they can prove the car has been misused, they have to fix it.

just noticed this afternoon that oil is leaking from underneath!!!!!!!! mostly on the left side, looks to be coming from under the CV joints, mostly on the left side.... glad it's going in on tuesday

Probably a split cv seal. Nothing out of the ordinary but it does need to be fixed.

Yeh I got the same problem in my focus.. Only happens when I reverse or take off quickly.
