I was having a bit of a yarn with a few mates over the weekend.
A few are tradies, and have some high powered utes. They carry their tools in the back each day, all week - and at the same time push well over 450rwkw. Anyone else on here have a high powered daily? A weapon that gets used, Monday to Friday - but is still ready to have fun with on the weekends? Stories?

Similar story for the Lad, has a 520rwhp Ute.
He recently got another daily. The Ute comes out once a week. My Ute is my daily.

Seems like it's much more common than I thought!
I'd give it a crack myself, but E85 is just so impractical for day to day use..

Had a stock standard FG F6 that my mrs used 70% of the time for over 3 yrs till we got a run around. She had the shytes with me one time and took off up the road like a scalded cat - first thing I thought was 'gee that sounded alright' lol......I instantly forgot what we were arguing about.

When I worked for myself many years ago I drove a low and loud chevy powered one tonner. Customers always commented they could here me coming.
Sold that, bought and sign wrote a mitsi van, comments then were how professional it looked. They were the people I needed to keep happy so for me it was a better option.

Very clean example!
Interesting hearing about others that use vehicles with heavy artillery upgrades as daily drivers. Gives me a bit of confidence to daily mine haha.

WKII Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT - 6.4litres and 344KW of power, and of course a button that says "Launch". It cracks 4.6s for the 0-100km/hr when the kids aren't in the back.

Used to have a 460rwkw G6ET as a daily. No dramas driving it to work then going to the drags running 10s.

Have had plenty of high powered daily drivers including XB GT, XB GS 351 Coupe, EL XR8, FPV BF GT, and most recently XB GS 351 Ute, all were (are) manual and all had significant mods to make them go harder.
Fuel was starting to kill me as I travel a few miles every week, so about two weeks ago I bought a little Toyota hatch, 1.3 litres, 5 speed manual, seriously it's almost as much fun to drive as the V8's and it uses about 1/4 the fuel, so my weekly fuel bill has dropped from about $120-$150/week to $25-$35 per week I stil have my XB GS Ute for week end fun and the occasional drive to work on a nice day. I also appreciate the V8 sound and feeling more now, as it's something special rather than a daily chore. A fitting picture in the petrol station

GT was a daily until I bought the Sprint 10 months ago. Now the Sprint will go and I'll be dailying the GT again with the best part of 1000rwhp. Had no issues with it before apart from the obscene amount of fuel it goes through! Been more reliable at 730rwkw in 5 years than the factory stock as a rock Sprint 6 has been in 6 months, too.
