Hi,
I have been working on the cooling system on my 2006 ZC 3.0L V6 Ford Escape using the workshop manuals posted in the tech docs (thanks Russ!). While doing so I noticed the diagram of the heater core inlet and outlet hoses looked like they might be installed the wrong way around. I've swapped them over but I want to be sure I haven't done something dumb. Links to photos of current configuration and screenshot of diagram from workshop manual https://fordforums.com.au/wsmpub/zcesc68/07-07.html included. https://www.amazon.com.au/photos/sha...jY9vV5253A57iA https://www.amazon.com.au/photos/sha...ZogwEymjTesaxL https://www.amazon.com.au/photos/sha...v7ZiyzmiVnjul4 Last edited by SIM1; 12-11-2023 at 05:54 PM. I've tried to post photos but they haven't appeared on the post as far as I can tell. I've posted links to the pics on an offsite hosting platform (Amazon prime) Last edited by SIM1; 12-11-2023 at 05:55 PM. Reason: photos not appearing?? |

To me, it does appear they’re transposed. That’s from looking at the bends moulded into each hose.
If it’s a “constant flow” type heater core, it’s not going to matter - it will heat the same. |

Considering a heater core is essentially a long length of pipe arranged inside a series of fins, its no different to drinking with a straw.....

…Except you’re less likely to be concerned with who used a heater core before you. #backwash
