What kind of crazy upside down world do we live in where Fords are now more expensive than Lexus? In 1997 if you told someone that they'd laugh at you. Compare prices (US dollars, rounded)
1997 Ford F-150 XLT $21,000 1997 Ford Expedition $27,000 1997 Lexus ES $30,000 Now today's prices: 2023 Lexus ES $43,000 2023 Ford F-150 XLT $45,000 2023 Ford Expedition $55,000 The person driving the Lexus has gone from having the best car on the block in 1997, to being the "poor" man on the block in 2023. It makes you wonder why Lexus haven't increased their prices, if the market is willing to pay so much? |

Lexus ES is a Camry in drag.
A more valid comparison and one worthy of the best car on the block title would be the LX470 at 55k usd in 1998 according to google. |

You can still get them of course but I think they are a little more difficult because dealers try to steer buyers into the nicer premium trims…I wonder why LOL. |
