Interesting 2.0 is across the XLT / Wildtrak as an option.

A good idea keeping the other engines available to see how the market reacts to the "tiny" 2 litre.

So why buy a raptor?
Just some shocks a lift kits and butch styling. |

Yeah good luck. Just remember while you’re doing that, to build a whole new coil rear end, a new front end with alloy upper and lower control arms (including attaching points), a new frame and body sheet metal ( plus a lot more ). |

Now the Raptor looks like even worse value over the regular Ranger models. $10k+ for some good suspension and a handful of tough visual enhancements. I think this 2L twin turbo suits the XLT and Wildtrack Ranger perfectly. Raptor on the other hand? Yeah, nah. |

T6 “truck” platform is quickly coming up to 10 years now, a bit long in the tooth. Are Ford/Mazda working on a replacement, or do they intend to do 15 to 20 years on the one platform to milk the profits

Interesting, I thought for sure that the 2.2 would get the axe as the 2.0 Panther
was supposed to be its replacement. well, it is in Euro Transit I wonder if the price of WildTrak and FX4 fitted with 2.0 diesel and 10AT is not all that far below Raptor...maybe that's the plan to sell more high series. Quote:
Gen 2 arrives in 2021 and will probably surprise a lot of people. maybe all that sooking really works.... Mazda stays with T6 for now but will move away in the next few years. Last edited by jpd80; 16-05-2018 at 08:56 PM. |

You’re letting the facts get in the way of a (standard) good old whinge and a “good story”.

Hasn't the antenna also been relocated to the rear of the roof.

At the end of the day the performance model (Raptor) doesn't have a performance engine which is why it has been met with some negativity. Using your example I'm sure the GT would have had a similar reception if it didn't have a performance engine and only had the suspension and body kit changes.

While nothing beats displacement I remember a certain 4 litre motor smoking a 5.4 litre with 2 fewer cylinders.

Yeah you can raise you standard ranger but you'll be replacing CV joints pretty often. Just saw one fail at 30000km with bilstein lift in it

How would they get the Everest awd system into a regular ranger? I guess for armchair engineers it's easy.

nah, I reckon it's doable but why on earth would you want to? if you go off road buy 4x4, if you don't buy 4x2. If you want to carry around a whole load of unnecessary weight buy AWD

Does anyone know if the Adaptive Cruise Control in this update includes Stop / Start Ability for Peak Hour Traffic?
Also does the Lane Assist, center the vehicle in the lane rather than react when leaving the lane? I believe the Endura will feature Lane Centering ability when released.

Here's a thought. Look at the road ,hold the round thing in front of the drivers seat and centre it yourself

Real buyers had no problem finding $64K for an FX4, a 2.0 diesel + 10AT option
and range topping Raptor will give those buyers more. Those buying an XLT 4x4 with the 2.0 diesel can expect to pay Wildtrack money. this is Ford testing the depth of the market to see how many committed high end buyers are there. To all those who can't see the sense in a diesel Raptor, that may be so but, what it does is offer play things for cashed up buyers. The rest of the Ranger line up continues as now with enough changes to get it through to 2021. Quote:
