Default Modern Day Mad Max

I was just thinking (I know I should not do that too often as it will over heat my one brain cell).

What vehicle would they use today if they made Mad Max today? Would it still be a classic piece of heavy duty Aussie muscle or would they go for a more recent piece of hi-tech muscle? Would they go for (dare I say it?) a Holden? Would they get a current four door modified into a coupe?

What do you think?

The Interceptor was a ford, so enough 300c and Monaro sillyness. It has to be a ford and it has to be a blown V8.

I'm still hoping in MM4, Max will wake up and realise MM3 was just a very, very bad dream. Then he'll look over and see the smouldering Interceptor shell, think to himself 'I can rebuild that'. That would be a movie worth watching. _2:

HSV GTO? Seeing as Ford Oz don't make a coupe anymore. It's got the look and they come in black.

Its just suitable in my eyes. Black, tough looking with a supercharger hanging OUT of the bonnet. Just my 2 cents

EB GT would be mad, in my mind that is the only more modern day car that actually has a large amount of toughness about it

A black Toyota Prius!
Max can fight angry bikies with hybrid technology on their Harleys
They will have an epic showdown at a recharging point where there is only enough power left for 1 vehicle.

The big finish can be when the gyro-captain saves Max by using his Hydrogen powered hang glider.

Don't think todays plastic and fibreglass would go too well in a movie like Mad Max.

MAD MAX in 2007!!

By the time the Environmental Scientists had thoroughly checked out that the natural habitat of some rare snail species was not to be distrupted in any way, the Greenies meanwhile were making sure that carbon emission levels were at minimum levels in keeping with OECD standards and the Politicians got fired up again on the now boring Global Warming debate from those "big bad nasty petrol guzzlers" this is about all the car you would get!!.........if you were lucky!!

"It's just not gonna have the same effect I dont think!!"

Yep, you've got my vote. An early E-series would be the go for sure.

Wasn't max's car the last of the V8s - 351 etc etc. So it would have to be an XC cobra, or perhaps an XD ESP?

I am going to say EL GT Falcon with the shark grill. Seems to fit the Mad Max them. But instead of that horrible bonnet scoop have a Blown/Stroker Windsor popping out the bonnet.

GT Painted in Matt Black. Monster Brakes, Methanol, NOS anything that screams out catch me if you can.

It would also have to be optioned with an electric sunroof to the siren on the roof.

But will it have the same (air con) style blower as the original or a real one?
