Default V6 with a Vengence *fastest 6cyl commodore vid*

http://www.franticfly.com/vengeancevid.WMV

I know this is a ford forum but I found this pretty cool video on the ls1.com.au forums if anybody is interested in watching.

Very fast V6 commodore, runs in the 13 second quarter mile bracket without even forced induction!

V6 Vengence is owned by Scott Taylor - who at the time of building the car worked for Street Commodores Magazine (he's now a freelance writer).

The point of the car was not to look good, but to see just how fast you could make a basic, crappy Series 1 VN go by using bolt on and home engineered items (stuff anyone with basic mechanical skills could do themselves relatively cheaply).

The fact that the magazine write up was supposed to be a 6 part story and eventually ended up being a 30-part series shows just how popular the ideas this project presented were.

Being a Ford forum, we no doubt laugh at this car, but imagine if you will that it was a Series 1 3.9 CFI EA Falcon GL.

Imagine if you could make that car do 11's for under 8 grand - I imagine you'd be laughing your **** off when you blew of the ****er who'd been looking down his nose at you for driving an EA.

Young Ford and Holden fans basically want exactly the same thing, they just use a different brand of base car to start from.

I've been (not too closely) following the progress of this car and all i can say is good on ya! In this day and age of slow and shiny (think ricers), it's great to see a shitbox VN running 11's. Wouldn't be my choice of vehicle, but none the less, sad to see it's died/dying.

I was gonna say that, but i'm thinking there's reasoning behind it. Better view of dash/easier to hold or something... Or maybe it's to add character.

Yeah, cool car, what a sleeper.

Typical Holden video but. It would have been nice to actually hear the car go, and to watch it do a quarter WITHOUT being fast forwarded. And for goodness sake, stop with the crappy visual fx.
