Question Fastest FG XR8 in WA/Aus?

whats the fastest time achieved by a FG XR8?

what about a stock motor one?

13.231 @ 104.89 mph
60ft: 1.981
M/T Streets

my car is mechanically stock, no tune, no airfilter change, no exhaust, no CAI etc, and its MANUAL

only mods is suspension, brakes and a clutch

no engine mods or tunes !!!

is it just me, or does this seem pretty damn fast for a stock boss290?

it is awesome tochi.. did you have standard rubber and if not what tyres were on the back?

forget I said that .. just read post properly.

goes to show how much the standard rubber is slowing them down.

Thats is really quick for a completely stock car mate. Congrats mate.

I think that is the quickest BA-FG manual stock (no tune) time. Someone please correct me if i am wrong?

Great time for a great car.

Seems that almost any FG performance model is a fast FG out of the box, regardless what the Kw's or even weight sugguests. I think the problem with the 8's is just they feel slower due to the torque delivery, but actually aren't that much behind the turbo's when push comes to shove.

That's good to hear, not to often do we hear time's like these from a stock Boss, everyone seem's to be concerned about the I6Turbo, about time we heard a Boss can mix it with the best of them.

can't compare the BA-Fs as they were Boss 260s not 290s.

Great numbers for a big car with no real mods.

Awesome time. I think the M/Ts highlight how hard it is to launch the 290 with the factory 245s.

Might also have something to do with the your running in method??

Great pedaling mate! Awesome time for a stock car. Even 13.6 was respectable stock, but 13.2 with just M/T streets! Your MPH is very decent too, that car of yours is a jet.

As for mods, if you start, you probably wont stop! Are you planning to keep it unopened? LOL

basically, with me, once i mod, i dont stop.
everybody knows if i put an exhaust on it, or give it a tune, then i will start modding it.
and when i mod it, it either would be TT or positive displacement. :(

my EF XR6T had $30k thrown at it :( :( :( what a waste lol

i dont want to mod the FG too much, because as i said earlier i have a drag car (1971 Capri, tubbed, caged, full custom chassis, fibreglass 1 piece front, lexan windows etc) that has run 8s in the past

my highest MPH is 105.4 or something.
so the times can drop a bit still

Great driving dude. 1.9 60 ft is pretty damn good for a stuck car. When i ran my AUTO with its exhaust and initial tune I did 2 passes 13.3 @ 107 and a 13.2 @ 108 2.1 60 fts on both. So considering mine was an auto with some mods that makes yours even more impressive. Grats

Not sure about the 290, but a well run in 260 has done a 13.71, so I you can imagine a 290 would be a little better, all things being equal?

hmmm unsure wicksy, he's in the 12s now.. but that was on a wet track.. unsure why they are allowed to race on a wet track (in qld) ...

but he'd be looking at 11s with his setup (providing he has the cams in now)

good run and an impressive time! glad to see you stickin it up the boss bashers out there,

without taking anything away from what your car is capable of..semi slicks & aftermarket clutch isnt exactly stock though,

I tried takin out the air filter on my old boss aswell but funnily made no difference to my times, will be interesting to see if it improves yours at all

good luck on the 12
