Default Air compressor - Old school

Howdy,

Thought I would share what I picked up today, it was out of the basement of an old petrol station/mechanics workshop, that is about to be demolished, I was chatting with the owner, and asked if he had any old air compressors he wanted to get rid of, he said yep there is one in the basement and if you pull it out you can have it.

Was running a 2kw 3 phase motor, so if I can source a 5hp single phase motor I'm laughing, or the other option is always a petrol motor, must investigate options.

I have worked out roughly based on pump speed and volume (1 pint @ 500rpm) that it should pump around the 10-11 CFM range.

My old little 25 litre in front for comparison.

I just love old machinery like this, runs forever and built like a tank.

Not bad for one hours work getting it out.
