Hi got a 93 v6 telstar and is doing the same as all telstars that year in that it will stop while driving . once you try to restart away it goes . Heard it may be a common problem for some other 93 cars. No one can find out why, ive replaced all the sensors , the distributor has been reconditioned twice ( once by me and once by the previous owner who on sold the problem to me ) The ford dealers dont know . Does any one know how to fix it ? ive put test lights to the distributor and petrol pump and they are fine, new air intake valve tried another ECU im at a loss Thanks Rob

get good bolt on battery terminals for each side of the battery
recheck that the earth to the body is clean and corrosion free if the car has an imobiliser that is where the problem usually is coil can be the fault alone other cause is the pins in the connection blocks break/or the wire to them inside has broken only other way is to trace the power circuit and replace the wiring if found weak replace the cars wiring loom front section

thanks for the advise ive already replaced the coil and the car doesnt have an imobiliser so will follow up on the other points. They seem very valid for a car that age .Thanks Rob

also check draw on starter motor alternator and fusable links
if there is a fuse box under the bonnet undo the unit and look underneath for corrosion/faults on all the wiring connections not seen
