Just thought id let you all know that my fairmont is now technically a write off, since a wet road and a telegraph pole saw the best of her 2day :(
I am still un-decided on whether i am going to wreck it and start again, or try n fix the damage, all though it will never be the same. It sorta only hit the front passenger side door and front guard so most of car is still good but yeah... still "technically driveable", as in i drove it to tafe n home again ok. One funny thing was how the impact fixed my clock/trip meter, since it didnt used to light up, and now it does! 2nd funny thing was how the ETSA truck beat the police car to the scene... Not cool....

That's a shame. From the pics I've seen of this car, it was a nice looking car. I must say I am a bit biased though :P

Gee. That does look nasty. Is it just me, or has that a-pillar been pushed in a bit? If so, that is a definate write-off

Yeah my dads m8 is a crash repairer.
He said definitely repairable but around 3500, or maybe 3000 for us, which means its technically a write off. We are trying to fix it ourselves and just get it painted professionally, but we are currently having trouble pulling the A-pillar out. (yes it is pushed in) Apparently that is a very strong point because it is exactly where the chassis braces the body, so i was lucky. The chassis is straight and the wheels have been aligned. Thanks for your support and comments guys! P.S. Those pics where it is nice and clean and parked at hallett cove beach car parks (where the january e-series cruise went) were taken just 8 days prior to the accident...

Stupid pole, or driver... if I recall correctly the pole was already there before you were driving.

What did you end up doing with the wheels you originally got with it?
