Is this confirmed?
The Pandas were going to go to Tassie next year anyway, so if it coincides with a V8 supercar round - even better Panda

I came on my first cruise to the h/lands and it was great to see so many personalised jobs done on xr's, but I just wanted to let you know, I thought your Rolling Jaffa was outstanding. Cheers Phoon

Sounds great any idea of the timing yet? Never been to Tassie and would relish the chance to cruise down through NSW and Vic to see some sights on the way. Pics of my XR8 on the start line at Bathurst awesome!

The Tucky's are coming to, we want to bunk in with the Fox's to see what a second honeymoon is like, we were thinking of going even if the club does not.
Anyway gives us a bit more to discuss at this weekends CQ Bathurst get together. Have already had a look at the boat from Sydney, you have to get a cabin, I thought a deck chair and a carton would have been all you need.

Tucky I can vouch you dont need a cabin if only on board for one night. There will be to much excitment on board to worry about sleeping! We too will be travelling to Tassie for this fantastic trip. Maybe only with one small smiley as the other one is going on A schoolies cruise instead. Have tried to start saving but there are too many things happening like paying for a Xmas holiday. But I am sure when the time comes we can manage by someone doing some overtime!

Another option for the Tassie trip is to drive to Melbourne and catch the boat from there - this gives us more of a drive, and still an overnighter on the Ferry.

I agree with Pete, I think that would be a better option and less sickening :

I think it sounds like a great idea. Tasmania is on my list of places to see, and combine it with a club run sounds great.
We can do some good runs down there too, Targa XRmania perhaps. I know that I would make a holiday out of it, and am sure others will too. In regards to Sydney or Melbourne I think we could make both options available as some may not like the long trip on the ship and others may not like the long drive to Melbourne. Wonder if Big John is doing a prerun of this trip too !!! Tassie 2006 here we come. Per |

Thanks for the kind words Phoon
I hope you enjoyed the cruise like we ALWAYS do. As for leaving Sydney or Melbourne, I vote for Sydney. Cheers Rod |

The reason us CQ'rs voted for Sydney of course is the fact that we have a day extra driving than you Brisbanites. The boat from Sydney leaves at 2pm and arrives in Devenport at noon the next day. We figured we could do with a nice break by Sydney and then of course on the way home we could look at doing the Bathurst thing. But each to their own, leave both options open.

Rod and Denise, I will be making sure that the Rolling Jaffa is actually rolling on its wheels and not nose to tail across Skyline and down the Dipper. Guess where we're going on the way back from Phillip Island???...yep...Bathurst for a look see and to get some shots of 747FLI on the track...my brother did the same a few years ago and has some cracker photos of him belting it of Pole...in his Combi that is!!! : : :
