Default Spotted FG GT Taxi In Melbourne.

Last night on Sydney Rd Coburg, saw a Fg Gt Taxi, it looked to be the real deal and not just a mock up, wasn't quick enough to take a snap though.

Anyone seen it before?

Standard taxi colour, or an FPV colour?

Standard coloured taxi and yes I too have seen it from afar, no photo.
Would love to get a ride in that.

Could it be this one? I saw it in a thread over on ls1.com - they seemed to find it amusing:

Let me state there are some taxi operators with some serious money behind them

I know of one chap, whom I wont name, with around 130 taxi licences in his control

Around 60-70 are owned by him the rest are leased.

An FG GT taxi would not surprise me one bit. Sure the business case doesnt make much sense but $60-$70k is a drop in the ocean to some of these guys

Saw it on bell st, around 2 weeks ago. I wondered if it was the real thing or just an XT with a kit. Passing it, it had the GT interior too.

As opposed to a garage queen collecting dust....as earlier pointed out, money obviously isn't an issue to whomever holds the licence for that taxi.....cars are meant to be driven, and this way they can share the GT love with others! I think it's fantastic!

Hell yeah, I'd like to get a lift home in that after a night of drinking. I wouldn't feel ripped off after paying the fare for once.

I'm sure the owner will look after it, but who's to say the passengers won't vandalise the interior while drunk?

No way would I be using something like that as a Taxi. I'd use a cheap old bomb I don't care about instead.

In Melbourne there must be too many runnaways from cabs to avoid paying the fare. It seems the cab drivers need a little more stink to catch the runnaway passengers.

The good ol undo the seatbelt and wink at your mate. Next thing you know they are half way up the road stretching out like donovan Bailey.

At 4.00 in the morning they aren't that quick! Anyways ..... prepaid fares are now mandatory after dark ...... but if you are going to be run down least a GT impregnated on your **** would be worth something

Similar to tradies who buy Commodore SS utes and load them with gear, and actually use them as work utes...you're writing the thing off as a business cost claiming the depreciation, so why not get something interesting?

Good to see it getting used...it's just a car after all. I recently saw a family of four...mum, dad, and two kids about five or six...in a yellow Porsche 911, a pretty recent one, at Dingo roadhouse out here, heading west. "On holidays" apparently, and going out to Longreach from what I heard. Good on them...Porsche 911's are one of the few supercars that you can actually use as an everyday car. Similarly, GT Falcons are just a Falcon with a few nice bits and pieces. Good to see them out and being used.
