Default Ford Delivers Outstanding Value with FG Falcon MkII

  • New FG Falcon MkII boosts value for customers, with more equipment and sharper list pricing delivering up to $8,255 of added value
  • FG Falcon MkII range is packed with more technologies and features than ever previously offered by Ford in this market sector
  • Recommended Manufacturer's List Price for the new FG Falcon MkII sedan range starts from just $37,235 for the entry Falcon XT
Ford Australia today announced Manufacturer's List Pricing for the new FG Falcon MkII range, highlighting the most comprehensive package of standard equipment and features ever offered on Falcon, in conjunction with a revised pricing strategy that delivers even greater value for customers.

FG Falcon MkII will showcase the best of Ford Australia's design, engineering and technological expertise, from the new 8.0-inch colour touch screen with integrated audio, phone and navigation functions to the comprehensive occupant protection package and, early in 2012, EcoBoost engine technology.

"At Ford, we recognise that Australians work hard for their money and want vehicles that deliver outstanding value," Ford Australia President & CEO Bob Graziano said.

"Ford is committed to providing Australian consumers with outstanding vehicles in all segments that offer stylish design, quality, safety, performance, fuel efficiency, smart technology and great value.

"The improvements we're making to the award-winning Falcon range with the introduction of FG Falcon MkII, combined with the strong value proposition presented by the revised list pricing, highlight the attractiveness of our large car package – a car designed, engineered and built in Australia to meet the needs of Australian customers."

The most popular model in the Falcon range, the legendary sports XR6, will feature an extensive list of additional standard equipment when FG Falcon MkII launches in late 2011, including an 8.0-inch colour touch screen multimedia centre, USB integration, 18-inch alloy wheels, side curtain airbags, reverse sensing system and projector headlamps.
Coupled with a new, sub-$40,000 list price, the FG Falcon MkII XR6 will offer customers over $5,500 of extra value compared with the outgoing model.

The value propositions on the luxury G6E and sports luxury G6E Turbo models are even more compelling, with the addition of the 8.0-inch colour touch screen multimedia centre incorporating a satellite navigation system, plus LED position lamps, an alarm and new, larger diameter alloy wheels on both models delivering more than $8,000 of added value to customers.

Falcon Ute models have also benefited from a significant increase in equipment levels, in conjunction with the revised pricing strategy. On entry-level Falcon Ute workhorse models that combination will provide around $4,500 worth of extra value, while sports XR6 Styleside Box variants will offer customers over $6,000 of extra value.

"FG Falcon MkII represents the most advanced, most comprehensively equipped and best value large car Ford Australia has ever produced," Graziano said

"With fresh exterior styling, a host of new features and the latest smart technologies boosting Falcon's already extensive equipment levels, together with a customer-focused new pricing strategy, it delivers outstanding value for large car buyers and builds on the rich heritage of the Falcon brand."

Recommended Manufacturer's List Pricing (MLP) for the new FG Falcon MkII range:

Seems Ford have been listening with the DROPPING of MLP & not the increase people were talking about in the other topics... Good move, should help with book resale values!!

Are there any read pictures available??

What are they playing at?

These prices are razor sharp, and make the Falcon a way more competitive proposition than the Commodore or V6 Camry. This is a good move on Ford's part.

Very good value. G6E Turbo is a corker. Hopefully FPV will follow suit, when it comes to the increase in standard equipment.

Here is an article from caradvice on the new pricing:

$6000 between XR6 & XR6T
$10000 between G6E & G6ET !!

hhhmmmmm.

Either way the reduced prices should help with sales.

I am looking forward to seeing the updated styling of the range.

surely there must be more to the difference between G6E and G6ET than just the engine to justify a 10k difference in price? does the g6e or g6et come standard with leather and reverse camera etc etc?

Quote:
including a new multimedia centre with 8.0-inch colour touchscreen and satellite navigation, as well as LED daytime running lights, a vehicle alarm and new 19-inch alloy wheels.
does the g6e come standard with this equipment like the g6et?

i really hope the new blue is not as good looking or sexy like the current nitro colour :(

The only difference is 19 inch wheels, rear lip spoiler and the turbo.. The rest is the same. (some trims are different colours, and different coloured headlights).

Same??
What about the driveline? Edit: Brakes are different, too.
Even if it did have the same driveline a substantial power increase demands big bickies. Look at the price difference between any two stablemates where there's a difference in power - even less of a difference in power - and you'll see what I mean.

Or take a G6E to a quality tuner and ask for an extra 90rwkw as well as beef up the driveline, without voiding the warranty, and see how much change you'll get from $10k.

And, for a half-full view you can say it's too cheap for what you're getting, when compared to other marques which cost more with much less power.

Theres no doubt about it..

All i was saying that theres definately a better feed in the G6ET for Ford, but at the same time G6ET's are usually dont sell for much more then $50 kay on the real market.

I can see myself in an FG2 G6E Petrol (I wanted gas but dont like 17's) sometime next year. The GT is great but sadly its expensive to maintain and useless as far as power goes and being able to use it.

Much stronger $A has probably played some part in these reductions which are a really good move. Turbo Ute for under $40K = lots of happy tradies
G6E price looks pretty tasty too.

Hmm hopefully this should give the Falcon's monthly stats a nice old kick along and make buyers think that there is value for money in the cars.
