So not sure if this is an electrical gremlin or mechanical but recently my oil pressure while idling would drop down to 0 and the warning light would come on then once i start driving the pressure rises with revs, after leaving the car overnight start it up the next morning the problem had disappeared, everything would run as normal, a few days later while sitting at the lights it happens again, i parked it and started it a few hours later but it didn't go away til the engine had cooled. About a week later (today) it happened again, this is after I dropped the oil and changed filter on Sunday.
Any suggestions on where to start? |

Might be your oil pressure sender playing up, or your oil pump is playing up

Mine does this. It's simply poor grounding. I presume you are running a/c when this happens?
I notice if I turn off my air con oil pressure will rise 3/4ths of a bar.

I'd start by getting it checked with an external gauge and go from there.
You could say it's a bad connection etc, but if it's not it could be starting to make expensive noises. To me the two most important guages are the coolant temp and oil pressure. If either is playing silly buggers it's off to get an external check.......quick

With GasOLane on this one ... you may be lucky enough to have an electrical/grounding gremlin .... but it may be something more sinister.
The easier way to get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge on is to get on of the Speco sandwich plates to suit your oil filter thread ... and wiring up a gauge that way.
