Last week here in Adelaide it was around $1.17.9 and the media was scaremongering saying it was going to jump up sharply over the Easter weekend, it went down to $1.14.9 and has only just crept back up to $1.19.9 today.
Still way overpriced but now you cant even trust the media to give you an honest forecast, lately when they say fill up quick it drops down lower soon after. |

Those sorts of jumps are common in Sydney...? 91 was a little over a dollar last week and was 137 a few days later. I used to bank on Thursday being petrol bump day but it's getting more volatile these days. I'm almost tempted to use the 7/11 app.

Sounds cheap, we were 2.059 NZD for 91 when I saw it last. Diesel is 1.359.

Petrol has always jumped all over the place in Melbourne very frustrating. all stations get the memo and fix thier prices on the same days But this year diesel has joined the parade, but I find they all don't change you will find a 20c/L variance 2km down the road..

I've been paying around 1.47 for 95 for a few months now. I think 91 is 1.37.9, Tasmania this is. Doesn't seem to vary much more then a cent of two around the state. Couple of months ago i was filling the falcon up at $55 a tank from a quarter left (store always gives me a discount) its been up at $75-80 lately. Lucky i usually only do 300k's give or take per week week, feeling for the guys who are doing 1000+

Thats the other thing, hasn't diesel traditionally cost more then petrol? i could be wrong since i haven't owned any diesel vehicles so i don't pay much attention to the price.

It costs more. I filled up today in the ranger. I have a fuel card so I don't care but it was $1.37 in sydney that's a bit steep but ulp is cheaper. I get 10L per 100 on diesel so there is no advantage for living life in the slow lane.

$1.69 here for BP 98, it drives me crazy. We use Costco 91 for the Outlander which is only $1.14. Makes me question getting the XR6T modified and having to fill up at BP. If I could fill up at Costco and use their 98 I'd be saving $27 a fill, crazy isn't it?

Diesel used to be about 2/3 price of petrol years ago. When more diesel cars came on the scene the oil companies must have decided to get a bit more of the action and upped the price.About a year ago the diesel price was about 10c cheaper than Reg ULP, now about the same. Our local price today Diesel $134. Premium95 $1.51.BP 98 around $1.60.

Looks like it's the normal price cycle.
Well, certainly is in Brisbane. Slowly creeps down, then shoots up overnight. Every city has their own cycle. https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/pe...s-in-melbourne |

98 was around $1.80 recently in Cervantes.
Makes those leisurely country drives where you empty a tank in two hours a bit expensive.
