Can't say definitively but I've never seen that before.
No AFF logo or anything, seems very generic. I say virus, phishing. DON'T TOUCH IT IMHO.

I have to agree with Raptor. I have never seen that before and if AFF was going to do a random survey from it's member base, I am sure you would have been given the heads up before hand by way of "the administrator needs you to read this thread" kind of thing. Such as Russ does whenever there is an announcement.

Absolutely a Virus but not on the AFF - on that Computer. Do not open it and you need to clean out the Computer.

I know your pain....If your in-laws are like my daughter you get monthly calls along the lines of "Dad can you come and look at my PC, it's going weird"

Download and install Malwarebytes, update it and run a thorough scan. You'll be right. It seems to be more of a spyware type virus rather than something potentially harmful.

Also use SpyBot run as Administrator and CCleaner both free and get a good anti-virus.

The MS Security Essentials found the computer to be clean. Next time I'm over I'll do the other suggestions.
Thanks, Jason

Slightly off topic, I know, but......
I don't hang up. I play along with them, sucking them in to thinking that I am walking up to the computer, turning it on and asking for instructions. Once I've got them sucked in, I then ask them to hold the line as the doorbell has just rung, and I need to answer the door. At this point, I place the phone down on the table (not hanging up) and head off to the other end of the house to continue whatever it was I was doing prior to their call. One time, I checked after about 15 mins and the guy was still waiting on the other end of the phone. The other night, I got a call, did this trick. About 15 mins later got a return call, asking "what happened, you forgot about me". He even gave me his 'name'. My response: nah, mate didn't forget about you, that was deliberate. At which point he hung up If nothing else, it at least stops them from calling the next person on their list..... Craig H
