The insurance is medical insurance, so if you have a crash and the other person required a 6 month stay in hospital, thats what its for, Im pretty sure you cant get medical elsewhere and Ive never heard of anyone saying I dont wnat it and them cancelling it. CTP stands for compulsory third party.

CTP - Compulsory Third Party. Completely different to your insurance.

The 6 months rego was supposed to be exactly half of the 12 months rego to help out the battlers. Now she has added a $16 fee as yet another stab in the back for the dumb schmucks who voted her in. Bligh must go..... |

You guys have just caught up to NSW for your rego costs.
At least you still can get your number plates cheap and not have to keep paying ongoing fees.............. |

I don't defend it but the higher cost is a (cynical) way of reducing admin costs to process CTP, road tax etc etc, twice a year as opposed to the single lower 12 mth payment. End of the day, regardless of the actual amount of rego, it's a budgetable expense of driving.. if you can't afford to pay it (on time, or for 6 or 12 months) you can't afford to drive.

So what ever happening to the GST replacing all other taxes? Some how we have all been screwed - We all voted in Johnny to put the GST in so we only have ourselves to blame

I know how to reduce admin costs. Remove incompetent people from the public service. Not likely to happen though is it? |

Not to be bagging you specifically but you would have to be very naive to believe that the GST was going to replace all other taxes. |

If you removed all the incompetent people from the public service, there would be about 6 people running the country.
Somebody had to say it.
