Angry Heads up stolen cars with impersonating Police officer...

Do NOT pull over for a dark blue audi A6 getting around the Tweed Coast/ Gold Coast, or for a Yellow Monaro ..

They are both stolen and the cop is an imposter...

I nearly had a head on with the Audi today , after filing a report with my manager this arvo the local news has revealed the details .

I have no link but trust me on this ..

The Queensland and New south wales police do NOT have Audi's or Monaros at present ..

If confronted Do NOT stop, proceed slowly to your nearest cop shop .

It was just broadcast on 9 Gold Coast news and may be on National 9 News ?

Daz..

Sorry guys nothing on the news feed ???

Yep the Audi was trying to pull over a P-plater in a commodore (true) had flashing blue/red lights on passenger visor and was flashing his high beam, he was dressed in full uniform ..

Both were coming towards me and after the commo pulled over , the Audi took off , he nearly collected me on his way down a one way street the wrong way !!

I reported the incident to my boss and i just saw the news

Yeah sure it would be confusing..but its an Audi, unless its a promo car then it would never be real...the Monaro you could almost forgive because they were once used, but that was a while ago now.

Quote:
Police are hunting a highway patrol impersonator who's using a car fitted with flashing lights to pull over motorists on the Gold Coast.

There've been five such incidents in two days but so far no one's been hurt.

On Sunday, two drivers were pulled over in separate incidents on the M1 at Elanora and on Currumbin Creek Road in the Currumbin Valley. Both happened at night.

And on Monday, police received three reports about similar encounters on the M1 at Elanora, on the Gold Coast Highway at Tugun, and on Mallawa Drive at Palm Beach.

Police said the impersonator had on some of the occasions demanded to see the licences of the motorists. It's believed he's using a stolen blue 2007 Audi sedan with NSW registration BIP12W.

The man's described as being in his mid 20s, 172cm tall, of solid build with an olive complexion and short dark hair.

Police want to speak to anyone else who may have encountered the man.

"Any motorist that believes the unmarked vehicle attempting to intercept them is not a police vehicle is urged to contact local police or if they fear for their safety to call Triple Zero (000), to verify the identity of the vehicle or the person," police said.

Motorists should try to stop in a well-lit area where they felt safe, keep doors locked and windows closed, ask to see the person's police identification and inform the person they would call police to verify their identity.

News tonight reported that Police had chased and lost him unfortunately..
He was also texting(?) someone/ somehow at Gold Coast Police headquarters and making threats.....

Did the P plater pull over? What does this guy do ones the car pulls over?

I would not pull over for any car that is not a modern falcon or commodore.

Police on the sunshine coast a few yrs ago were using a white dual cab ute, have seen a dark green holden ute here in Townsville, have seen an unmarked Patrol 4WD, just to name a few.
Many years ago they were using a (about 10yrs ago) a VN commodore with spoiler kit here in town.
Police have a number of unmarked vehicles of different models, not just white late model commodore and fords..

Just remember Qld doesn't have Police officers on patrol. They only have a Revenue camera squad, and blue uniformed pen pushers.

Oh, yeah, they have a fleet of Aurion company cars too. Not sure what they are for, but I saw one the other day being driven by someone out of uniform. Must be a company car.

Some of the guys I worked with would get tanked everyday before driving home. There basic atitude was "as long as I don't speed, I wont get a ticket".

Normally I have great respect for Police. An incident where I required there assistance many years ago, made me realise that Police force in Queensland is nothing but a pathetic joke.

I should clarify, I really mean the Beauracracy behind Police procedure. I do hold the Police accountable to a degree though. They want payrises, but will not stand up for what is right. They don't have my support.

Honestly though I do believe that the problem is higher up. But, I still think the Police should fight to have their powers restored before asking for a payrise.

Back on topic. Thanks for the heads up regarding whats going on.

Have a look at this link. http://www.nqpfc.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=241 We have had all sorts of cars on the roads up here. I tell you I would not be stopping for any clean car with lights. Only Police marked cars.

Issues like this certainly raise an argument against unmarked HWP cars now don't they.

While this guy might be harmless having people willing to pull over for any make and model with a set of flashing lights is a very dangerous situation for the public to be in, must admit if that pulled behind me with the disco lights rolling i'd pull over i have seen them in that many different makes and models here in victoria i don't know whats what anymore.

A week or two ago, i saw an unmarked car pull over someone in Kunda Park on Maroochydore Rd (Sunny Coast).

It was just on dark, but light enough to see sort of, and I was headed the opposite direction so I cant be certain of the badge, but the body shape was either a Dk Blue Hyundai i30 or Mazda 3. Im leaning towards Mazda 3 because how large the badge appeared to be. The grille badge was visible but I only got a quick glimpse of it as I drove past (divided rd with 3 ft barrier between) and appeared to be one of those. Flashing lights were on the passenger visor. Appeared to be a stocky lady copper in uniform speaking with the other driver so it was legit.

It is really dodgey for public safety when they could be in anything. Fine if its actually a copper, but the potential for it to be a loon of some kind are getting way to likely when it could be any new car.

Its only a matter of time before we hear about some poor girl being attacked or some such as a result. Especially late at night.

Maybe that will stop them from using unmarked cars and go back to actually being a visible presence on our roads!
