Default Where's everyone putting their reverse cameras

I'm about to fit the reverse camera on my BF XT. Instructions say above the number plate on the grab handle for fairlanes etc.

Anyone got a pic of one mounted up on an XT.

Brenden

I did this install on my BF MKII XT a few weeks ago. I mounted mine under the grab handle on the boot.

How good is the TFT screen upgrade? - I love it! I've installed the dvd player in the tissue box using the aerpro mount/facia kit as well.

I will take a heap of pics tomorrow and post them up.

Mines exactly the same. I notched the grab handle for the wire with my die grinder so the wire wasn't being pinched.

I had an idea about the camera but would need a test grab handle to test it. I'd be tempted to grind one out so the camera isn't visible and hidden inside it.

I mounted my h/unit differently as I didn't like it sitting inside the fascia. To me it looked unfinished. I mounted it poking through and used the h/units fascia around it to tidy it.

I have a question though. I've not looked properly yet as I broke a clip on my cig lighter and need to replace it. The USB ports power, which one on the black wire is positive? I had no instructions with the aeropro fascia. Planning to replace the cig lighter in a few weeks and look at which wire is positive.

I'll be rechecking all the wiring to as I'm having an issue with the contrast. It's fine for about 20mins then it brightens and makes the picture all washed out till I turn the car off and on again. Makes it hard to read when playing MP3's. I know it's not the h/unit or camera as it does it on both. My only thought is the RGB box might be having an issue. As the ICC is fine if I flick the switch and return to the AUX screen but I guess the connection under the ICC maybe something to check?

I'm yet to contact ASL but will do if it does my head in.

Other than the teething issues I'm very happy with the setup. Can't wait to add some my ASL products/upgrades to the car.

I have the same thoughts about the the grab handle, I need to get one and try it!

post a pic of your dvd install, I'd like to see it.

If you look at the pcb for the USB connection '+' & '-' are printed on the board. The black wire with the white writing on it is the positive wire, connect that to the blue/white stripe of the cig lighter and the other black wire to ground.

Check where the RGB box is mounted and make sure there is nothing that could be pressing on the brightness controls of the unit. Other wise the may be an issue with it, give us a call at ASL.

i have the rgb box mounted under the dash on the right of the icc. nothing can touch it there is at least 3 inches of clearance around the box. i have it double side taped and stuck to the underside of the dash. i will recheck wiring first.
