I am so ****ed off I missed out on tickets for boxing day, so I admit I had a chuckle when I read about fake bidders putting up the ticket price. The tickets are for cricket fans, not low life scum trying to make a quick buck.

A warning was issued on the radio in Perth yesterday stating that it was illegal to sell the tickets at anymore than their original face value (part of the conditions of sale) and that the ACB would be actively looking to try and cancel any tickets advertised on the web. Be careful as you may buy a dud.

The scum posting the tickets on ebay are simply costing genuine cricket fans the opportunity to watch a series which should be simply extraordinary. Unfortunately these profiteers will be the ones who are not wasting their money should the transactions go though - it will be those who buy the tickets who will have wasted their money. I don't have much sympathy for them either, if they were real cricket fans they would put up with the system like everyone else has had to.

not at all... there will be other cars.. Concerts, sporting events and the like are usually one off events.. The game or performers fan base involves the consumer having a fair crack at actually going to see them..

Ebay'ing tickets is wrong, just plain wrong... I heard the ACB has made a meal of it with the "Cricket Family" or whatever it is called... Poms are renting Aus post boxes, ordering alot of tickets through the priority access ticket offer and selling them on for a nice profit...

There is no hypocrisy at all. A car is a good, a sporting event is a service, two totally different products with totally different aims for sale - and different needs and wants to satisfy. You wouldn't buy food from a restaurant and go out the front, put up a table and re-sell the food again would you? Similarly, you wouldn't pay for a hotel room and charge someone else 1000% more for the service.

The fact is that the tickets are only legally allowed to be sold at the price they are initially issued at.
