Default AU series ll & AU series lll

Hello all, have a question.
I have just purchased AU series lll Marlin black ute as advertised. On picking up the ute & checking it's compliant plate, it's is a AU series ll.
I wanted the AU lll as I believe that after AU ll they introduced the Intech HP motor into the AU lll. Am I correct.
The sell said because it is in such good condition I should be content & the fact that its black makes it rare wtf.

What is the build date?

If in doubt you can email your details to Ford (call customer service to get the email address) and they can send you a letter verifying what you have.

Yes, AU III XLS had the XR6 HP engine.

As long as the car is clean and drives well, I don't think you would notice the 7 kw difference between the base Inteck and the XR6 HP spec Inteck.

As above, if it drives well and you like it, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Definitely series 2. I don't think there were series 3 built utes.

If it wasn't what you wanted or expected, why did you take it?

Even if it is nice and drives well you'd potentially overpaid for it and already lost on the resale/insurance value side.

What about the 3.45 and LSD?

Didn't know until received ute, transported from SA to QLD.

With an AU ute now, your number one question is “How sound is the body?” If it checks out well in the usual trouble spots, you’re doing OK.

Sorry about your dilemma, I hate liars, was the car bought private or off a dealer, a dealer has to guarantee the title, lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs, the price difference will pay for ya transport, it was obviously a deceptive advert, and if you dident know then you dident know, not everyone is an expert when it comes to buying a car, but the seller knew!......contact Consumer Affairs in SA, it's only an email away, hey pays for ya transport costs like I said earlier!

Good luck Billy.

XLS 1 Tonne Suspension - Auto : 3.45 HD / Man : 3.23 HD
XLS Heavy Duty Suspension - Auto : 3.45 HD / Man : 3.23 HD

He said it was supposed to be a AU3 Marlin. I thought they were based on the XLS.

So its more than just the engine missing. The diff and LSD is as well. Plus the extra Marlin bits.

I had a mate that had one when they first come out. I'm just remembering back.
