What are they going to do with it now? Its worth stuff all as parts and they can't sell it complete as its much too high profile

I wouldn't say stuff all as parts, but they are easily identified.

The scumbags deserve to be caught.

This is terrible news...

Id say its parts value is about 10% of its "market" value...
Fair risk to take considering the profile the parts and car will attract and the fact that they'll be charged with theft of over 600K.
Last time one was stolen they recovered it because the crims panicked when they worked out what it was.

Maybe someone is restoring a car and needs bits....

Default STOLEN; 1971 Phase III GT HO

Dont know if this is a repost.. sad story

Quote:
POLICE are seeking witnesses to the theft of a unique $600,000 Falcon Sedan from an auto repair workshop in Collingwood St, Osborne Park.

The car, which is a red 1971 Phase III GT HO Falcon Sedan registration number 71 HO, is valued in excess of $600,000 and is a unique collector’s item within Australia.

The car also has distinctive 15-inch Bathurst Globe mag wheels.

Overnight on Monday 5 November 2007, unknown offenders gained entry to J & M Caporale Auto Body Repairs by forcing the padlock on the front gates and the office doors to the premises.

Once inside, the offenders moved a number of vehicles in order to gain access to the car. These vehicles were driven out through the front roller doors which face onto Collingwood Street, and parked down the side of the premises.

These include a Rolls Royce Stretch Limousine, a late model Holden GTS Monaro valued at $100,000 and a Honda Odyssey.

They have also moved a forklift that was parked against the roller door, and pushed a second Rolls Royce away to gain access to the targeted car.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. .

Bound to happen, I bet it was not insured for $600,000 or for whatever it will cost to replace it....................

And I bet the Workshop did not have ample cover as well.

Very Sad for the owner indeed..................

I was talking to a pannel beater who was restoring a PhaseIII no wonder he was being so carefull hiding what it was from anyone. All markings taped removed or hidden while he was working on it, to the point where I think he made the owner keep the compliance plates... You would hope the cops dont treat this like just another car theft, as whoever has gone to this kind trouble more than likely has a bit of experience stealing peoples cars

professionally stolen to order. If someone wants something bad enough for a private collection, they will get it.

Never to be seen again.

Poor Bugger, I hope he gets it back. Insurance companies might offer cash "on the street" to find this car and get it back. It would be cheaper to pay some dude 25 grand on the street to find out where this car is than to payout a huge wad of cash for an insurance claim.
This is why mine is kept in a shed, wheels off, no battery. Yep its a pain in the butt when I want to go for a cruise but to some it would be too much hassle to steal I hope.
I hope the coppers catch the guys and make em pay !!!

You dont hear that everyday, not anymore anyway, another hoey going to be stripped to bits like the 80's, what a shame. Poor owner,

Very brave theifs to move 2 rolls royce, and take the HOey.
Well planned, any neighbours hear any commotion? where was the owner?

I wonder if that was the same car that passed in at auction a few weeks ago, the owner had $600k reserve on it and got no takers, if it is the same car I would say the owner would know exactly were it went....

I dont see how a GTHO is worth $600k,

Except to this one poor fool who took it to auction

It's funny you should say that because one sold at auction for $900k only a couple of months ago.
