Mondeo ST24

Has anyone here had one of these, I am looking at getting one as the second car to the Terri. Want something with a bit of go and resonable economy.

Any issues that any one knows of?

Any comments?

Took one for a Test Drive when it first came out. Nothing overly critical to say but nothing overly positive either. I wonder how well they retained their value...

I wish I wish I wish I had the extra cash to get one.

I think they are AWESOME. Good performance (enough to beat off commy's and falcons) with better economy to boot! And they look sexy aswell.

Id say go for it. Ive heard the usual issue with FWD cars, cv's etc etc, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Just dont bend or brake anything as they are very expensive for parts and ordering parts can be a nightmare as they are European.
I would go for a TX5 from the early 90's as parts are easy and the V6 aint too bad either.

From what I have heard the ST24 was a very underrated car, if people knew more about it, it may have sold as many as it deserved to.

Get one the pommy coppers used these for their HWP cars
They are a good car and they have the same motors as the FORD Cougar 2.5 Ltr duratec motor

They're very good cars.. built like a vault and have a silky smooth duratec V6. My mates brother has had one for about 3 or 4 years and so far no major dramas. Another friend also had one that killed a box but i believe it wasn't a manufacturing or engineering failure, he killed it from driving it like a toss pot.

ive seen an st24 at a car yard for 10K had higher kays than that tho

very cheap for what they are, resales like the rest of the invisible mondeo range

I preferred the model of Mondeo that came after them, the interior is quite nice too. I Don't think they were sold in Aus but they are in NZ.

that blue one looks HOT. it tempting to get one seeing as they cna look that good. imo from factory they left a bit to be desired, the wheels were a bit naff

The Mondeo, the European Falcon, sacrifice rear wheel drive for front wheel pulling power, Euro spec tranny and extremely civilised V6 and Euro spec interior.

Pity the ST24 came with 4 spoke alloys, if I had one I'd drive it straight from the dealer to a wheel shop for a more acceptable set of 4. Nothing too outlandish, but something with 5 or more spokes, 4 spokers look queer.

Its a medium size car, lighter than a Falcon and the real cons being low supply of after market bits to spice it up (in Australia) and that premium attached to spare parts. Plus a big con in the style stakes were the enormous rear lights on the Sedan, take a tip from Oz and pick up the hatch, more civilised and exactly what was used in the BTCC.

LOL.. thats my mates brothers car and no it hasn't had a respray. The lenso's suit it perfectly.
