Default My poor EF! is this a write-off?

This is my EF, i went sideways through a gutter and then a fence in the rain. Does this look like a write-off? it looks like it has bent the bottom of the pillar in a bit is this fixable?

Not a write off.

But not a cheap fix, you would need to replace the whole seal and graft it in.

Any panel beater will rip you a new one, and obviously two new doors which you can pick up for next to nothing.

waste of time trying to skin those doors, the frames look pretty mangled

not a write off but if your going through insurance then it would most probably be written off because these are not worth that much anymore unfortunatly

its a relativly easy fix tho, weld in a new sill, couple of second hand doors, pull out the pillar a little AND KEEP HER OUT OF THE GUTTER lol

The insurance company will class that as an economic write off, meaning it will cost more than the car is worth to fix it.

It is fixable though, I've seen a lot worse floorpan damage done to cars that have been repaired.

its not worth putting some new doors on the car with the sill and pillar damaged like that, chances are you will damage the new doors trying to close them

just get a few quotes, find out how much you can get some doors for compared to a panel shop supplying them

you might find that a panel shop could get the doors cheaper than you can

what state are you in?

Im going to go against the grain here and say it would be a write off. What's an EF worth these days? $4k at best? (I paid $3k for my EL a year ago) Hell you wont have much change from $2.5k if you took that to a panel beater and wanted it done properly.

But its certianly fixable

damn, i'm lucky mine wasnt that bad. but underneath mine was probably worse, bent the diff, and all the arms it was attatched to. bent my stub axle on the front, giving me 4 degrees of positive camber. the stocky was absolutely mangled. and the worse thing was my pizzas got squashed by my subbie box

Yes because there thinking about the cost of repair and weather it out weights the overall value of the car.

I say is not a right off for the pure fact that it can be repaird, I didnt commnet on weather it was worth it or what a bunch of ******* at a insurance company think.

Hope you can do your own work buddy because if your paying someone else to do the work its not worth it.

all i was trying to say is, anything is a write off, just depends on who is looking after the case, and wether or not you yourself wants it. if you don't have an insurance, it's not a write off...

It is fixable, but if its nothing special, buy another car, will cost just as much then swap the good/useable bits from the wreck and sell the left over bits.

Looks like a base model, so possibly not worth all the effort or more so the cost of repair.

I've had similar quotes for similarly minor damage in the past. Different make & model, but prices wouldn't be far off.

There are some very nasty panel beaters out though who quote stupid prices. Ended up having the 2 doors & sill fixed, body mods done, minor front end bingle repaired & the whole car resprayed for less than some people were asking just for the doors to be fixed.
