Arrow EF's over long periods of ownership

My mate has an EF, when he purchased it over six years ago it would do some serious standstills with a single spinner on racing tracks etc. : but now he has problems getting the things to spin like they used to, he has put on 18inch rims and that's why he can't light them up, but on the weekend we put stockies on the back and he tried to light them up in my backyard on concrete and all it was doing is revving and no wheelspin?

In the dissapointment of this occurance i drove my Dev5 powered EF wagon out the back and that had no probs at all for very obvious reasons :king:

Could it be his diff that is now old and not ripping standstills or 'burnouts' as some call them. What would you suggest he do without going into modding, add turbo/blower etc.

worn rings, lower compression, less downlow power.

I guess a compression test or leakdown test would give an indication of the bottom ends condition.
over time things just wear out, weather it be fuel pump, filters (fuel, air), engine.

Engine temp can also have a big influence on the power, as it air temp.

my stock(engine) ef s/w is quite tempromental when it comes to plant both feet. same problem? its on 17's and one would think the slicker surface of the dunlops would make it easier...

single spinners are easy to spin, wen u get an lsd with an auto it might struggle, but with a single spinner and it doesnt spin em on a stocko, compression/low down power will be cr4pz0r as john mention
