Default Tyre pressures at the track

What sort of tyre pressures should I be using at the drags on my XT?

your best bet is to get a set of M/T Street Radials don't race on the street tyres.

15-18psi mate. Outside these ranges won't do much good. Checkout the M/T website for their bulletins and reccomendations.

Are you going to invest in some caltrac's or slapper bars? They are a good investment. I went a 1.48 60ft on oztracs this last wknd so they help hook you up

Ive bought a spare set of convo rears to put the MT street radials on.
I figured Id run with them first & see what happens.
How much are oztracks & where do you get them from?
Ive never driven a car down the chute but I have had my current bike & my last 2 down there with a best time of a low 11

Any advice for a first timer would be appreciated

Brad this one doesnt run anywhere near these pressures (22-24 rings a bell) , using slidealinks though

dont forget to reinforce the rear spring perches as well to stop them breaking off

Were the macdonald brothers version of the traction bars a "bolt up fit" or do they need some mods to fit?

apart from welding the rear tabs to your lower leafspring bracket they just bolt in,
although i did have to grind a bit off one of the bolt heads either side because it was just touching the chasis rail when it pivoted.

just check that when you bolt it all in to dummy up where you need to weld the rear mounts too. (weld the brackets so you have plenty adjustment either way so you can back them off or put a few turns off preload on the leaf)

Tomorrow week if everything goes to plan. I bought a set of MT ET streets in 275/50/15 But they were rubbing badly on the passenger side. I changed the wheels to another set with 1/2" more backspace & got the guards rolled today & now they arnt rubbing.
I'll let you know how I go.

Sam @ Vulcan panel in Canning Vale did the work for $200
Seems to know his stuff
He runs a EK that does 9.1

Dont run any less than 14psi in ET Street Radials . They will start to loose traction and your 60' will go backwards .

I always run 16-17psi in mine .
